What Can I Put Inside the Dumpster?
Well, we can tell you what you can’t put inside the dumpster. That should give you a better idea of what is permitted. First off, just because it’s a dumpster doesn’t mean you can throw anything away. There are limits. When loading your dumpster, be cautious of what you’re disposing of because there are certain items that can’t and won’t be accepted by the landfills for multiple reasons. Putting these items inside the dumpster could result in extra fees. Any flammable, toxic, or hazardous materials can’t be disposed of in our dumpsters. If you are unsure whether or not something can be put inside one of our dumpsters, just ask. We will let you know what is and not allowed.
Additional prohibited items include:
- Tires
- Batteries
- Tree stumps
- Railroad ties
- Pants & lacquers
- Oils
- Asbestos
- Infectious waste
- Contaminated soils & absorbents
- Ink & resins
- Industrial drums
- Food waste
- Fuel
- Adhesives
- Refrigerants
Perfect Placement
Like with any delivery, it should run smoothly. Where your dumpster is placed is just as important as to what is allowed and prohibited inside your dumpster. You can have your dumpster placed wherever you want. In fact, when you call us, we will ask you where you would like us to place the dumpster. Typically, when it comes to delivering a dumpster to a residential area, we place the dumpster in a driveway. Driveways are the best, and most common, spot to place a dumpster because it’s easily accessible. It’s much easier to drop off and pick up a dumpster on a driveway. In all actuality, any paved surface works well for that same reason. If you would like to have your dumpster placed on your front lawn, that’s fine. Just know that a permit would be required. A street permit allows us to legally leave a dumpster by your home. Front yards seem to be logical places as well to place a dumpster, but if it were to rain, the dumpster would sink into the grass, which would then make it very difficult to remove.
